It's just generic gunfights and car chases, with just a few OK fights.
Moreover, they simply lack the careful craftsmenship in the first one. They're plagued with the usual shaky-cam, poor framing, and over-editing that's prevalent in most modern action movies. And last but not least, the action scenes are way inferior to the first movie. Music score is really generic and way overbearing throughout the whole movie. The plot and pacing is just too rushed: it just blazes through plot points without any rhythm and build up.
Too bad the second movie is completely the opposite of that. He just lets everything on screen play out, and it was such great and refreshing cinematic experience because of it. Chris McQuarrie's "less is more" directing really made the first movie for me. Jack Reacher is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the novel/movie series, Jack Reacher. The biggest thing that stood out to me was how shockingly amateurish and sloppy the directing was. Jack Reacher must uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy in order to clear his name. They've sold 100 million books in 49 languages worldwide.Being a fan of "Jack Reacher", I was hungry for more and I checked out "Never Go Back" in spite of the less-than-stellar reviews. Since then, Child has published a book a year in the Reacher series.
